We have all taken at least one emotional ride in an Ola/Uber. Sometimes, it’s a breakup over a phone call, a ride back home after a hospital visit, or a tiring journey back to a lonely PG, where the only peaceful ‘me time’ is in that cab. Or perhaps a ride back home from a party… sometimes, even a funeral. And the person you can trust through it all to let you be or comfort you, if need be, is the person in the driver’s seat.
Ever wondered what that driver’s journey looks like? How many secrets does he hold? In the back seat, he must have seen people cry, stare out the window as if looking into nothingness, constantly message while grinning from ear to ear… and then…???
Maybe even see homes break? An Uber driver in Between Us witnesses one such journey of a woman who is, maybe, struggling to make a decision… Or maybe she never wants to make one. And amidst the chaos, we have him – politely witnessing her as she deals with one of the most awkward situations of her life.
While she doesn’t owe him any explanation, he, without judging her, makes sure that whatever situation she finds herself in, she gets a different perspective. And maybe…maybe that perspective will help her put things into place.
Between Us is a wonderful and unique story that isn’t here to deliver a life lesson. It simply talks about a ride from one place to another and everything the characters are going through.. On the way to their destination.
