If you have watched korean rom-coms and you love them for their fun element, you can watch Take Charge Of My Heart but if you are expecting a good storyline or a plot that surprises you, I am sorry to break it to you – there is nothing new in this drama.
A lot of scenes reminded me of Oh My Venus and Spooky in Love. The way the male lead, Baek Ho-rang is struggling to survive and yet, all his grandmother is concerned about is the next heir actually takes you back to Oh My Venus and the way the female lead, Na Bo-bae wears gloves all the time so that no one gets the ‘shock’ of their life, it reminds you of Spooky in Love.
To cut it short, if you regularly watch Korean dramas, each and every part of the story will remind you of some other drama you have already watched. To put it in an Indian way, it’s a korean khichdi. But yes, the scenes between Ho-rang and Bo-bae are fun to watch, especially the haunted house scene. I laughed hard. The couple’s chemistry was good but yes, we have seen better couples and better love stories in kdramas so again, if you simply want to sit back and watch another drama where you absolutely do not have to get involved emotionally or intellectually, you can watch Take Charge Of My Heart.
P.S. Keeping it short because, as I said, there is ‘nothing new’ to discuss.
