Castaway Diva Ep 11 and Ep 12 Review: All’s Well That Ends Well, Even Though It’s Predictable And Filmy

We love happy endings and that is exactly what Castaway Diva gave us at the end, a happy ending!

Though the show followed a predictable storyline in the finale episodes, episodes 11 and 12, there is one unexpected twist that takes your breath away – when Jung Bong-wan, Ki-ho’s biological father tries to kill Jung Ki-ho’s adoptive father, Lee Uk by stabbing him in the neck. This was not just unexpected but also heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. But as I said, all’s well that ends well.

In Castaway Diva’s episodes 11 and 12, we saw that Lee Uk and family are being called for interrogation along with Bong-wan. Here, we see the entire family honestly answering the advocate about why they used fake identities even after knowing it is illegal. During the interrogation, as Bong-wan starts talking about his family, the advocate gets a confirmation of his toxicity. It also gets clear that he has attempted to murder Ki-ho’s friend. As per the verdict, Ki-ho’s family is let free due to lack of evidence. Bong-wan is guilty here but as the verdict comes, he tried to kill Lee Uk and commits suicide himself so that his wife never gets a divorce and has to die with his surname. Luckily, Lee Uk survives the attack and the family lives happily ever after.

Seo Mok-ha also confesses her love for Ki-ho and they all live together as a family. We also see Mok-ha climbing the ladder of success in the field of singing. The journey that began from Mok-ha’s dream of becoming a diva ends with her dream being finally materialised.

THE VERDICT

Castaway Diva is a predictable show which can be watched just one time. You can spot mistakes in the show like Mok-ha’s colourful umbrellas and change of clothes on the island. Just because the show has to revolve around the diva plot and Mok-ha’s love for singing, the plot has been unnecessarily put in the spotlight when there were too many storylines that, if explored well, could have taken the show to another level. Unfortunately, the show has been made and the fact that a lot of good opportunities were missed cannot be changed.
