Animal Review: Ranbir Kapoor Is Slowly Becoming That Nepo Kid Who Doesn’t Deserve Any More Chances

I have nothing to do with or say about this movie because when they say, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, all my hopes about the film being sensible goes down the drain. I wasn’t even interested in watching the movie but almost half of the film was released on social media in parts via reels and shorts.

But I wanted to understand why someone like Ranbir Kapoor would sign a film like Animal. I thought Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar might have been a mistake but after watching Animal, I really feel that Ranbir Kapoor has slipped into a zone where is either trying to have an image makeover or is simply overconfident about his performances. He thinks he can single-handedly turn a bad film into a good one. That’s not happening – not now and never in the future.

Ranbir Kapoor was always an effortless actor but his efforts to become someone that he is not or to do something that doesn’t come to him naturally are visible. And those visible efforts are not pleasing to the eye.

Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, they were always exceptions when it comes to the hot ‘nepo kids’ debate. They were unreal when it came to their art. A perfect combination of talent, looks, and dedication. They were the actors we so needed. But when I see them trying to fit in by doing something that they think may give them a makeover their careers need, my heart breaks. All these two need is good stories and storytellers. They aren’t made to ‘fit in.’ A few gems that this industry had are dying because we don’t have filmmakers that would just stop trying to benefit from these actors’ ‘celebrity’ status to make their journeys easy in the industry. All these so-called stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan need is a script that would allow them to squeeze every ounce of ‘performer’ that they have within them and let them freely utilise their skills.

Actors like Ranbir Kapoor are good performers as humans, they don’t need to turn into an Animal to survive in the industry.

And for god’s sake, stop turning Ranbir into a combination of Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol. We are not in the 90s.

P.S: Not adding trailer or streaming details of this film because it’s not worth it.
