Cubicles, one of my all-time favourite TVF series is back. Speaking of the plot, with every season, it’s diving deeper into the corporate world exploring the complexities of human emotions, in the process.
A web series on the corporate world cannot be authentic and relevant without politics. But what makes it different is the writers trying to maintain a balance between human beings in their original forms and corporatized humans. You, ideally, don’t find beauty in corporate politics but when it comes to TVF, they have, somehow, found a way to make it bearable. That’s applause-worthy!
What’s Cubicles 3 all about?
Our very own Piyush Prajapati is now a team lead. As he is progressing in his career, his challenges are getting tougher and work situations tighter. He doesn’t have Megha to support and guide but he has gained enough corporate knowledge to survive on his own.
But! What a corporate world doesn’t let you gain is – CONFIDENCE! He is still under confident as everyone has a piece of advice for him. No matter how hard he tries, even his team – who are also his good friends, start to judge him and his capabilities.
Now, Piyush is faced with another challenge – work vs friends! Where should his loyalties lie at work? Should he support his friend and let them work the way they want to or adhere to strict deadlines? His dynamics with his colleagues start changing which constantly breaks his heart. He is not wrong. He is not judging his friends. He is not misusing his authority but the teammates start feeling that he is. Piyush needs to understand how to change his personality and mindset in a way where, when needed, he can be the leader he is supposed to be and when needed, he can be his team’s friend and confidante.
Though at the end, Piyush chooses friends over company, his seniors do not let him do that which results in honest performance review and letting one of his close friends go.
The corporate world is brutal and Cubicles season 3 explores that brutality and the challenges an employee faces while maintaining the balance – sometimes, between sanity and insanity.
Should you watch Cubicles Season 3? Yes! It’s always a big YES for Cubicles.
